THORNRIDGE BOER GOATS

Thornridge Boer Goats purchased the first females in the fall of 2005. Since then we have been populating our herd with does that will produce goats bred to excel in the show ring as well as in the pasture. We experienced tremendous success in our first year of exhibition. At the 2006 Illinois State Fair we exhibited the Grand Champion Percentage Doe in the junior show as well as the Reserve Lightweight Wether in the junior show and Reserve Grand Overall Wether in the open show. In 2007, we exhibited the Grand Champion Overall Wether at the Illinois State Fair Open Show.

Our females are selected to produce champion show wethers and percentage females that will compete at the national level. We are dedicated to becoming the source for wethers in the Midwest. Our ideal female must have a long, feminine neck and carry a lot of muscle and shape throughout her body. In addition, she must possess a big, level top and nearly level hip, while maintaining a sound set of feet and legs.
